Thanksgiving Decor

 

 

Here are a few pictures of the Thanksgiving Decor. I love to decorate for the holidays

and as soon as Halloween was over I put away the Halloween decorations and added the Thanksgiving decorations to my fall decor.

Recently my Dad gave me a few more boxes of some of my Mom's things. I was so blessed to find many new treasures including these darling pilgrims figurines.

Above is a banner I made several years back...I love hanging it up every year and reflecting on what I'm thankful for.

The wooden figurine of a Saint was also my Mom's, as were the old suitcases that I'm using here as a  small table to display some decor.

 

I was also very excited to find several pieces of china that belonged to my Mom to display in our dining room hutch. My Mom collected all sorts of decor items that had acorns on them and these pieces are very special as they have acorns and leaves on them.

Above is a very unique bowl with hand painted acorns and leaves and a cup and saucer. Below is a close up shot of the bowl and cup and saucer.

Above are two more cups and saucer sets. The one on top has a turkey on the saucer and fall fruit on the cup.

Below is a closer shot of the hutch. As can be seen there are several other beautiful pieces that I recently inherited from my Mom's fall china collection. I look forward to displaying these beautiful pieces every fall season going forward.

 

 

Above in our kitchen I have displayed a vintage framed Goodhousekeeping magazine cover, a fall floral bouquet and two precious porcelain praying pilgrims. These also belonged to my Mom. I've had them for about 5 year now and enjoy them so much each year.

 Additionally in the kitchen I've put out my beloved pilgrim family on the little shelf above my sink.

 These were also my Moms and I've had these for about 5 years as well. I just love these figurines and they were favorites of my Moms as well.

 Also in the kitchen I decorated the iron shelf piece in the little corner nook. Below are close ups of each shelf.

The little turkey plate was a new treasure that I found this year in the box from my Dad.

                                         ....as was this wooden turkey! I just love him.

 .....and last but not least is the little Indian figurine that I actually bought for my Mom one year as a birthday gift. I'm blessed to have it now and I placed her with a crate of pumpkins.

She looks like she is selling the pumpkins!

Thanksgiving Decor

It's almost impossible to believe that the holidays are upon us. Wasn't it just July? Time truly flies that's for sure. Sure enough though, Thanksgiving is just a few days away. So I thought I'd share with you the few Thanksgiving decorations that I put out in place of my Halloween decorations. I made this THANKFUL banner 3 or 4 years ago and I love it just as much now as I did then. T

 Basically the banner is chipboard with cut out letters, card stock and embellishments. Here is a close up of one of the letters.

 Here is another close shot of the pumpkin, corn, leaves and candle that adorn the mantle.

 If you have been a follower of my blog for a while then these pilgrim figurines will be familiar to you. These were my Moms and she loved these. So of course...I love them too.

                                          Here is a few things I set out on my kitchen counter.

                                             This tea cup and saucer was my Moms as well.

               Here is a cornucopia I put together years ago along with my wooden pilgrims.

               In my front porch I changed up the display a bit and added more pumpkins and corn.

 This is a fun pillow I bought years ago while out shopping with my friend Beverly. We both scored one of these at TJ Maxx.

 These little pilgrim figurines were my Moms and they fit just perfectly in the little compartments above the kitchen desk.

 The BE THANKFUL sign and mini ceramic pumpkins were also my Moms and fit nicely in one of thse compartments.

 Lastly here is my display on the coffee table in the family room with a darling little sign that says GIVE THANKS.

All of these "thankful" decorations is a daily reminder to me to be thankful for the blessings in my life. My family, my health, a loving husband and friends. The fact that Kevin is gainfully employed when so many are not in this economy. I'm truly thankful and truly blessed.
